Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: May 18, 2025

1. INTRODUCTION

This Cancellation Policy ("Policy") outlines the rules, conditions, and procedures governing the cancellation of services, subscriptions, and user accounts on the Taplet platform ("Platform"), which is owned and operated by Taplet Platform Limited ("Taplet", "we", "our", or "us"). This Policy is applicable to all individual and business users ("you", "your") who have engaged with our services globally.

This Policy is intended to provide transparency regarding cancellation rights, limitations, and the consequences of termination, and should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any service-specific agreements.

2. GENERAL PRINCIPLES

  • All users are free to cancel their accounts or services at any time, subject to the terms outlined in this Policy.

  • Taplet operates on a non-refundable model. No cancellations will result in prorated refunds unless expressly stated in a signed commercial agreement.

  • Cancellation requests must be initiated by authorized account holders or verified representatives.

3. SERVICE CANCELLATION REQUESTS

3.1 Standard Account Cancellation

  • Users may request cancellation by emailing support@taplet.app or through their platform dashboard (if available).

  • Requests will be reviewed and processed within five (5) business days.

  • Users will receive written confirmation upon cancellation.

3.2 API and Developer Accounts

  • For API subscriptions, users must disable their API keys and revoke all connected tokens prior to cancellation.

  • Failure to do so may result in continued service charges where applicable.

3.3 Contractual Subscriptions

  • For users operating under a negotiated subscription agreement or enterprise contract, cancellation may only occur according to the cancellation clause outlined in the signed agreement.

  • Early cancellation of fixed-term contracts may result in termination fees or remaining balance charges.

4. EFFECTS OF CANCELLATION

4.1 Data Deletion

  • Upon cancellation, user data (including content, uploads, settings, and configurations) may be marked for deletion after a thirty (30) day grace period.

  • During this period, users may contact Taplet to recover or transfer their data.

  • After the grace period, data may be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policy and privacy obligations.

4.2 Account Access

  • Platform access will be terminated upon cancellation.

  • Any residual services, integrations, or linked endpoints will be revoked.

4.3 Outstanding Payments

  • Users remain liable for any unpaid invoices or usage-based fees incurred up to the date of cancellation.

  • Taplet reserves the right to take legal action or involve third-party collection agencies for recovery of outstanding balances.

5. NON-CANCELLABLE SERVICES

Some services and features are designated as non-cancellable, including but not limited to:

  • One-time onboarding or setup fees;

  • Custom integrations or development work already commenced;

  • Compliance-related services (e.g., KYC/AML verifications) once initiated;

  • Enterprise licenses or annual commitments without cancellation provisions.

Users will be notified in advance when selecting or activating non-cancellable features.

6. TAPLET-INITIATED CANCELLATION

Taplet reserves the right to cancel a user’s account or subscription at its discretion, with or without notice, under the following circumstances:

  • Breach of Terms and Conditions or Acceptable Use Policy;

  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity;

  • Non-compliance with KYC/AML requirements;

  • Technical, regulatory, or security threats to the platform.

In such cases, Taplet may immediately restrict access and initiate data deletion protocols.

7. CANCELLATION FOR FORCE MAJEURE OR LEGAL RESTRICTION

Taplet shall not be liable for delays or cancellations caused by:

  • Acts of God, war, civil unrest, strikes, or natural disasters;

  • Legal injunctions, sanctions, or regulatory bans imposed by competent authorities;

  • Sudden infrastructure failures or service disruption beyond our reasonable control.

In these scenarios, users will be notified as soon as reasonably possible, and all services may be suspended or cancelled without liability.

8. REINSTATEMENT OF CANCELLED ACCOUNTS

Reinstatement of cancelled accounts may be requested within the thirty (30) day grace period. Approval of reinstatement is subject to:

  • Payment of outstanding dues (if any);

  • Re-verification of identity or business status;

  • Technical feasibility and platform availability.

After the grace period, reinstatement is no longer guaranteed and may not be possible if data has been purged.

9. MODIFICATIONS TO THIS POLICY

Taplet may update or amend this Cancellation Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or through the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
